Below is our friend Duke and his Service Dog in Training Bo.
We were on the Ferry at Bridgeport Conn. and headed to Medford Long Island New York.
This was Duke's first Service Dog that he and his wife have raised.
First time turning in your dog is VERY hard, but we have a GREAT support group and we are ALWAYS there for each other.

At this time we were headed down to Medford Long Island New York and emotions run high for us puppy raisers.
We rode down with friends of ours, and shared stories along the way.
Being a puppy raiser , you gain many friends and you become like family...

Today is the first of December and just a few days ago we received Noble's first report card from Medford Long Island New York.
Yes, our service Dogs in training receive report cards to let us know as puppy raisers how our dogs that we have turned in are doing.
So far Noble is doing fine, and his next report will follow during the last Wednesday of December.
How do we give them up is by far the #1 question, but until you actually meet and talk with someone that has been waiting for up to 2 years for a Service Dog that will GREATLY aid with their independence, it's hard to put into words.
So now I refer them to videos u-tube , here by typing in Help is a four legged word so you can see for yourself the difference that not only the Service Dog can make in persons life, but how important the roll of a volunteer puppy raisers plays in TRUELY changing a persons life for the better.
We as puppy raisers have a goal .
To have a sit down diner and actually meet that SPECIAL person that we will be turning over that Yellow and Blue leash to.
We Pass on photo's of our puppies adventures along the way.
We may exchange e-mails and gifts, and Sometimes may even shed a few tears as well.
I look at having raised Noble as an HONOR to possibly help out someone that needs a helping Paw and a dedicated friend that will offer unconditional loyalty , Friendship and LOVE.
Do I Love what I do....you bet
